Miss Courtney<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

At the age of three Courtney slipped on her first pair of ballet slippers, and knew that dance was going to be a huge part of her life. Courtney began training at The Dancing Center Unlimited in Chelmsford, MA and quickly found it be her home away from home. By age seven she became a member of the competitive team where she excelled in ballet, tap, and jazz. Over the years, Courtney spent more and more time in the studio perfecting her technique and rehearsing for various performances. She extended her dance knowledge and ability in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, modern, hip-hop, Pointe, along with contemporary dance. While in these classes and performances, her skill continued to move to higher levels.<\/p>\n

As a dancer, Courtney performed in various competitions and venues including Dance Ovations Nationals, a number of times, along with other competitions in MA and N.H. Twice she has performed in Walt Disney World. At the same time Courtney attended numerous dance conventions in which she was given great opportunities to take master classes with some phenomenal choreographers, such as David Connolly, Tyce Diorio, Travis Wall and Wade Robson.<\/p>\n

Courtney also performed in the cast of The Nutcracker with the Dance Prism Company of Concord, MA. In high school Courtney became a teachers\u2019 assistant at The DCU, and also taught a kinder hip-hop class. She was also a member of the Chelmsford High School Dance Team performing in pep rallies, musicals, and the spring shows. At age eighteen, Courtney\u2019s dance career was slightly halted due to hip dysphasia, which caused her to undergo many surgeries at Children\u2019s Hospital. Courtney did not let this little bump in the road stop her from doing what she loved.<\/p>\n

While completing her undergraduate degree in human services at Fitchburg State University she was a member of the Fitchburg State Dance Club, and the teacher of the advanced tap class. With the FSU dance team, Courtney was given the opportunity to travel to New York City and take classes at the Broadway Dance Center in NYC, and was provided with the lucky opportunity to take a master class with a cast member of the musical Chicago that is on Broadway.<\/p>\n

As a teacher at Spotlight, Courtney is enthusiastic to pass on her extensive knowledge of dance to younger students. Her passion is to provide young dancers with the excitement of dance in their lives along with learning respect for their body, motivation, and perseverance. Her principal hope is to pass on a love of dance to her students. Dance is not only an art; it\u2019s passion, it\u2019s emotion, it\u2019s feeling! Courtney\u2019s motto is \u201cNever give up, never say can\u2019t!\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
