Spring Recital

SDA’s 14th annual spring recital is getting close! The recital, “Over the Rainbow” will be on Sunday, June 12^th at 11am and 4pm at Littleton High School in Littleton, MA. Students in the 11am show will need to arrive 30 min before performance time. Students in the 4pm show will need to arrive 1 hour before performance time. Dress rehearsals will take place Friday, June 10^th, and Saturday, June 11^th. All dress rehearsals will also be at LHS. Times for each class vary, please see recital notices being emailed later this month. Students will need to arrive in full hair and makeup, and ready to dance. More detailed info and costume/hair/makeup directions will also be emailed out this month.

**Recital tickets will be sold online beginning May 16^th until the week before the show. Tickets for the 11am recital will go on sale at 11am, and tickets for the 4pm recital will go on sale at 4pm. THIS IS SO THERE IS NO CONFUSION ABOUT WHICH TICKETS TO BUY! Seats are first come, first serve and are $20.00 each. If you plan to have your child/ren in a seat they will need a ticket! Dancers do not need tickets, but if you want them to join you in the audience after, they will need to be on a lap! Tickets will NOT be sold at the studio but any remaining tickets will be sold at the door at LHS before the show. Recital Flowers, Tshirts, DVDs/Downloads, and Picture Day

We will be selling flowers through Floracause again and they would love it if you ordered ahead if you plan to get flowers for your dancer/s! Here is the link to choose your flowers: www.floracause.com/spotlightwestford

Information on recital T-shirts and DVDs/Digital downloads will be emailed out this month in our detailed Recital Information email. Picture Day will be happening during the Dress Rehearsals again this year. Package information and more details will be sent in our recital information email this month.

Daddy Daughter

Last call for Daddy Daughter sign ups! Sign up now at the studio bulletin board or online!

Dancers, grab your dads or father figures and dance with them on stage at SDA’s June recital! “Couples” will learn a fun, simple dance to perform at the spring recital. All ages 2-18 are welcome to attend!

COST: $55 per “couple” and $25 for an additional daughter. This cost includes a recital T-shirt for each dancer!

CLASS DATES: Fridays May 20^th, May 27^th, & June 3^rd from 4-5pm (4pm show participants) and 5-6pm (11am show participants)

Summer at SDA

We will be offering a 6 week summer session of classes for all ages from July 18^th-August 25^th! Some of the classes offered this summer are Acro Intensives, Technique/Conditioning intensives, Ballet Intensives, Tap Intensives, Hip Hop, Jazz/Lyrical, Adult Classes, Kinder Classes, Preschool, Tots, and much more!

We are offering our Dance Camps for all ages:

Dance Intensive 1 (ages 5-8 and Prep/Teeny) August 8^th– August 12^th 10am-1pm

Dance Intensive 2 (ages 8-12 and Petite/Mini) August 8^th– August 12^th 10am-3pm

Dance Intensive 3 (ages 12-18 and Junior/Teen) July 25^th– July 29^th 10am-3pm

Dance Intensive 4 (ages 13-18 and Advanced/Elite) July 25^th– July 29^th 10am-3pm

BROADWAY BOUND DANCE CAMP (ages 8-18) August 15^th– 19^th 10am-3pm

Disney Princess Adventure Camp (ages 3-6) August 8^th-12^th 10am-1pm

Also look out for one-day workshops and intensives throughout the summer for those with busy schedules that cannot make weekly summertime commitments! Private Lessons are also offered by request. Ask Miss Becky for details!

Last Call for Diamond Dancer Auditions!!!

SDA’s popular competitive performance team is looking for a few new members to fill their teams! We currently have a Teeny Team (beginner level ages 6-10), a Petite Team (Intermediate Level ages 8-12), a Mini Team (Intermediate Level ages 8-12), a Teen Team (Intermediate Level ages 11-18), a Junior Team (intermediate/advanced level ages 10-15), and an Elite Team (advanced level ages 13-19). (Age levels are approximate, dancers are first placed based on level) We have decided all auditions (new or existing team dancers) will be on the dates listed below. Please email Miss Becky if you are interested in your dancer auditioning. We would like to schedule a Parent Information Meeting for any new potential DD parents to answer any questions, discuss team details and expectations, and audition requirements. Please contact Miss Becky for details!

Auditions for existing team members- If any current DD’s are looking to move up to the next level team, we will be holding auditions on the below dates so that you can plan next season’s classes accordingly. The auditions for current team members will be held on May 18^th for those auditioning for Petites, Minis, or Elites and on May 25^th for those auditioning for Teenys or Juniors, and May 26^th for those auditioning for Teens. Times for each level will be determined soon and emailed out to those who emailed their interest. These auditions will be held during class time. We like to see the ability level of those auditioning along with the current members so doing it during class time gives us the best option of seeing them as a potential part of that team. Those not auditioning, or part of other teams will not be a part of the process. Please email Miss Becky to sign up for auditions!

2022-2023 Season

The 2022-23 Dance Season is just around the corner! Our new schedule will be posted this month! Classes max out at 15 students (Acro maxes out at 12 students!) so keep an eye on your email and social media for Registration day!

Spotlight On:

Elia Chandonnet Age 10

This is Elia’s first year at SDA, and she has fit in right away! Elia is one of our Petite Diamond Dancers and also takes Ballet 2 with Miss Katy, Petite Technique with Miss Kiera, Jazz 2 with Miss Becky, Hip Hop 1 with Miss Lauren, and Acro 3 with Miss Zoe and Miss Emily. Elia is an extremely hard worker and is always eager to show her teachers a new skill she has learned, or something cool she made up on her own! She is a great listener and is always very respectful to her teachers. Elia has already grown so much as a dancer this year and we cannot wait to see what her years ahead will bring at SDA!

Recital Ticket Information

Again this year, we’re working with a company called TutuTix to make it easier for you to get tickets to “Over the Rainbow”.

Gone are the days of coming down to the studio, waiting in line, and spending your valuable time purchasing tickets. NOW, you’ll be able to do it from the convenience of your own living room, office, or wherever you are.

Tickets will go “on sale” beginning May 16^th, 2022. Tickets for the 11am recital will go on sale at 11am. Tickets for the 4pm recital will go on sale at 4pm. At that time, you can purchase tickets by any of the following ways:

A couple of additional items to note: You need a credit or debit card to buy tickets. Tickets will be sold first come, first served. So buy early to get better seats.

TutuTix charges a low, fair fee for their service. Included in the $20 ticket price is their $1 per ticket fee, plus 5% processing charge (you are not paying anything additional to $20 per ticket).

You’ll have several options for how you want your ticket delivered. You can have it emailed to you, or sent to your mobile phone internet browser at no charge! Or, you can choose to have TutuTix mail you foil-embossed keepsake tickets for an additional fee– with your dancer’s name printed directly on the ticket!

**If you have support questions, please contact the number above for Tutu tix. I cannot fix any computer issues or give refunds for tickets. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ARE BUYING TICKETS TO THE CORRECT SHOW! This company is separate from SDA, and your questions will be answered more quickly by them. Of course, feel free to call me if there is anything I can do! The website WILL be busy at the beginning of sales so be prepared to have back up seating options if you cannot get the ones you want. Most of the parents will be buying tickets right at the start time on that first day!
