Miss Emma

Miss Emma is an SDA alumni, originally from Acton Massachusetts! She is currently living in North Reading Massachusetts completing her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Merrimack College.  Miss Emma graduated from Sacred Heart University in May of 2024 with a major in psychology and a minor in dance.  She began her dancing journey at age 13 at Spotlight!  She quickly became a competitive Diamond Dancer and began her training in ballet, jazz, acro, musical theatre, lyrical, contemporary, tap and hip hop. In her time as a competition dancer, Emma received titles and scholarships at both national and regional levels, while also assisting and taking part in many conventions.  During her undergrad at Sacred Heart, she was a member of their professional dance company, where she attended the World Dance Movement competition and workshop in Bari Italy. Miss Emma has also trained at the Boston Conservatory of Berklee, and has assisted alongside, and worked with many different well-known choreographers.  She also has experience with gymnastics, modeling, and acting.  On top of the styles listed above, Miss Emma has also trained in Pom, African Dance, and Ballroom.  In addition to teaching at SDA, Miss Emma also teaches at Connecticut Dance Academy from time to time throughout the year!  She is still actively dancing and hopes to sign with an agency and work professionally upon completing her masters degree.  Outside of Dance, Miss Emma works as a counseling intern at a women’s mental health recovery center.  She is a huge animal lover, who loves spending time with friends, being at the beach, and going to Cape Cod with her family!  Miss Emma is so excited to be back at Spotlight (her forever home and second family) but this time as an instructor!  She loves watching all of her students learn and grow!  She emphasizes creating a classroom environment that blends a deep passion and love for dance with a strong foundation of hard work, technique, performance quality, and teamwork—all while ensuring the experience is enjoyable, and of course full of fun!
