MISS KERRI
With over 30 years of dance experience, Kerri began her dance journey at 18 months old at The Dance Academy in Cary, Illinois, where she trained in ballet, tap, jazz, modern, and pointe. At age 14, she continued her ballet and pointe studies at the Performing Arts Center of Spring Grove and was a member of her high school’s varsity competitive dance team for 4 years. Kerri expanded her performance experience as a backup dancer for a female R&B group in Chicago, performing at music festivals and appearing in 3 music videos. While studying Public Health and Education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, she took classes through the university’s dance program, and was a founding member of the Vitality Dance Team, which continues to thrive today. She then began her teaching career at Center Stage Dance Academy in Huntley, Illinois, where she taught dancers of all ages and levels in creative movement, ballet, tap, jazz, and competitive dance.
After relocating to Massachusetts, Kerri took time away from the studio to build a career in adult online education and focus on starting her family. While dance remained a constant passion throughout those years, returning to the studio at SDA has felt like a homecoming. Today, she teaches dancers of all ages and is passionate about helping each student grow both inside and outside the studio. Outside of teaching, Kerri enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, reading, baking, and making the most of any opportunity to be outdoors.
Kerri’s teaching philosophy centers on developing the whole dancer—mind, body, confidence, and sense of self. She believes dance is a powerful form of self-expression and strives to help every student discover their unique voice while building strong technical foundations. As someone whose life has been shaped by dance, she is passionate about sharing that love with the next generation. Whether teaching tots or working with experienced performers, her goal is always the same: to create a safe, fun, and engaging environment where every dancer feels valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.
